When the user clicks on Populate from Exams, the Maths Highest Grade field for students should only be concerned with Maths results, as was the case in previous years. Unfortunately, the complex changes CAPITA have had to make for the English results aspect of this calculation has led to a confusion in their coding that means that where a student has achieved a higher grade for English lang/lit than for Maths, the highest English lang/lit grade is being added instead of the highest Maths grade.
For example, if a student’s highest grade for Maths is 4 and their highest grade for English Lit/Lang is grade 5, clicking on Populate from Exams should result in the Maths Highest Grade column showing 4 and the English Lang/Lit Highest Grade showing 5.
Unfortunately this is not what occurs and the highest grade for Maths shows a 5 as well as the Highest Eng Lang/Lit Grade showing as a 5.
CAPITA will be issuing a fix so that the correct Maths Grade gets populated from Exams.
